     Pollution happens when unwanted gasses and other material escape into the environment. It causes waste , the financial losses and damage in human , animal and plant health. Huge growth in industry and in the world's pollution in the last 100 years have led to more and more industrial process and pollution . Deliberate dumping and accidents such as oil spillages have seriously affected the earth's air , land and water . Some gases and particles in the air may be dangerous to health if breathed in . Most air pollution comes from burning  fossil fuels ( coal, oil and gasses) and solid waste or from  gases released into the air by different processes . One of the worst is carbon monoxide from vehicles exhausts . It is poisonous to humans because it prevents the absorption of oxygen . Another is nitrogen oxide, which reacts with sunlight to produce dense smog . Tobacco smoke also damage health even breathing in other people's smoke is harmful . Increasing quantities of heavy metals such as mercury and lead, chemicals, sewage and oil spills are polluting lakes, rivers and oceans. Water in some places is unsafe to drink or even bathe in, as a result, and animals are harmed and killed.

         A Tiger in the Zoo.                        In the poem 'A Tiger in the Zoo' the poet wants to convey the message that it is cruel to keep wild animals in the small cell at the zoo , away from their natural habitat . They feel angry, helpless and unhappy . They long for to return to their life the forest. A tiger with bright stripes on his body is caged in the zoo which walks in quiet rage over the pads of valvet. When  it is in the jungle in his natural habitat, links in shadow and slips  through the grass near the water to catch the healthy deer. It terrors the villagers with his teeth and claws . The poet contrast s a tiger in the zoo with the tiger in its natural habitat .

In this poem 'the trees' the poet Adrienne Rich shows the conflict between man and nature. The poet wants to convey a message that a few trees in our homes can not be called nature . The real nature is out side, in the jungle or on the mountains that man has already damaged a lot. It is almost irreparable loss .

  In this poem,Walt Whitman praises animals for being better than humans .They possess all those qualities that human beings have either forgotten or knowingly ignored . Like humans they don't develop greed, envy, hatred and malice towards others. That is why the poet wants to live with them and experience a peaceful life where no one complains. They are free from sorrows  and sufferings of life .

Tricki led an affluent life . It included extra meals of Horlicks, cream cakes, chocolates etc. His night bed, cushions, toys, bowls and coats were very expensive .
