Poem 06. Amanda
Central Idea of the Poem
The central idea of the Poem Amanda is this that the parents should not always force their children to do this or not do this. They have their own desires . The whole poem revolves round a little girl named Amanda . She is constantly monitored and nagged by her mother . The poet sheds light on how a child questioned about her actions by her mother . When one's freedom is curtailed , it creates problem . And Amanda is facing this problem. She is groping the way to come out of her troubles .
