When Siddhartha confronted for the first time the painful stages of life like poverty, sickness and helplessness of the old age, he was deeply moved and troubled. He felt so anxious that he decided to leave  luxuries and seek enlightenment .

 What happened to Kisa Gotami's  son? What did she ask her neighbours to give her ?

Kisa Gotami's only son  died due to some reasons. She went door to door in her neighbourhood  to get some medicine so that she could get back  back her son's life again .

Kisa  Gautami had lost her only son and was highly disturbed. She visited each and every home of her neighbourhood begging for any medicine to make her son alive again.

The Buddha raised a hope in Gautami's heart for her son's revival of she brought a handful of mustard seeds from a house where people had not lost a loved one to death. After her worthless search she realised the bitter truth.

Tired Kisa Gautami was watching the lights of the city. She saw that the lights flickered up and were extinguished again. She corelated it with human life and realised that life and death is a common process to all.

Once Prince Siddhartha,while hunting saw a sick man, then an aged man, then a funrel procession and finally a monk begging for alms. Looking at this,he left the palace and became a beggar to search for enlightenment.

Gautam Buddha was born in a royal family and his childhood name was Siddhartha. At the age of 12 he was sent away for schooling in Hindu sacred scriptures and four years later he got married to a princess.

Gautam Buddha preached his first sermon at the city of Banaras, which is regarded as the holiest of the bathing places on the river Ganges.

What did Buddha say about the mortals of the world?

Buddha said that death is inevitable. The life of mortals in this world is troubled and grief and combined with pain . For there is not any means by which those who have been born can avoid dying; after reaching old age , there is death, of such nature are living beings. It is useless to worry about death.
    He further taught that if humans have to overcome death. It is possible by drawing out the arrow of lamentation and complaint and grief. Man must overcome sorrow to be at peace.

 How did Siddhartha Gautama get enlightenment? Why did he name the big tree as a Bodhi tree?

Ans. 

Gautama wanted a final solution for the sufferings and pains that afflicted people of the world. He wandered for seven years for seeking enlightenment . Finally, he sat down under a big tree. He vowed to say there until enlightenment came. Enlightened after seven days, he renamed the big tree. It was named Bodhi tree. He gave his first sermon at the city of Banaras on the river Ganges.
